Manage Public Static IP Addresses

If you need to access your GCloud resources (servers, routers, loadbalancers) from Internet, you need to request static public IP addresses and assign them to corresponding resources.

Static Public IP addresses belong to specific vDataCenter until they are released by the user, that's why these addresses are prefered in case when public IP address should remain unchanged even after rebuild of the component to which it is assigned.

You can manage static public IP address in "Public IPs" section shown in Img. 1

When new IP address is requested, as you can see (Img. 4) it is reserved, but it's status is "DOWN". It means that this IP address is just reserved but is not associated with the server. If IP address is already associated with the server, it's status is "ACTIVE"

You can associate IP address with the server by clicking on "Associate with Server" link alongside the status of the address, as shown in Img. 4

In popup form, select the server from the list, to which it should be associated. (Img. 5)

Also, if it is necessary, you can set PTR Domain name to any public IP address by clicking on "Set PTR Record" link alongside the IP address as shown in Img. 4

Provide PTR record and optionally description and TTL to this record in popup form (Img. 6)
